Arithmetic for 32-bit and 64-bit machines
Could it be that the DEC box is a 64 bit machine/OS and Linux is at very best 64 bit machine/"32 bit" OS ? When the DEC box reads in the Linux produced tar file, it probably fills the unused bits (probably zeroes). But the Linux box reads in 32 bits at a time effectively cutting off another 32 significant bits of

64 bit of 32 bit?

I figured that there is a problem using the 32-bit client utility so I used OSQL, via SQL Server Agent, on the 64-bit to ensure that I was using a compatible 64-bit utility. By doing so, I was able to restore the database successfully. So my question is, is not being able to restore a 64-bit database via a 32-bit

I also suspect that so-called "64-bit" version of Oracle is really 32-bit version with 64-bit memory management. Untrue. Code is code.. is code. Don't confuse that with what the compiler does. I would be very surprise if Oracle uses 32bit calls and thunked that via a kernel layer to 64bit.

It comes with (2D) Nvidia driver, I would be curious if anyone has any specific benchmarks that would be useful for comparison (especially 32 and 64-bit versions).

issue affects the db2cc GUI - the underlying DB runs fine but you lose all the Java functionality. As I said, 9.5 (and 8.x) work w/oa hitch here.
